Some people found that old home has its own charm. With dark and bold color, this type of house will look stand out. In Fitzroy, Australia, you will find residential complex called Moor Street, which is the complex for the old residence. Designed by Andrew Maynard Architects, this complex has old and modest design from the front view. But when you come in to the house, you will see the bold and dark color that gives strong view for the house.
You can see the white color for the front of the house. By adding small garden in front of the house and maple trees at the edge of the driveway, the designers are giving the old home style for the home view. The designers are also giving the old looks for the back part of the house. The back part of the house has small garden with potluck arrangement and small terrace. The fence in the back yard was made from woods. So, the overall view of the back yard is old yet modest style.
But, when you look up of the back yard, you will find two adding space in the second floor. This adding spaces are stand out because the box‐shaped and the bold color, red and green, that can be seen from the outside. In the first floor we will find a living room, kitchen, and dining room. The living room is on the front side of the house, while the kitchen and dining room are in the back side of the house. The kitchen has simple wooden style kitchen, and the dining room was designed like the coffee shop style.
The second floor contains bathroom and bedroom. The interesting things are the bedroom and the bathroom is using the box‐shaped with bold color. The bathroom is using the box with red color, while the bedroom is using the box with black color. In these two rooms you can also enjoy nature view of Japanese maple trees, which are planted in the additional indoor garden in the first floor. The designers are showing old home style plans in a great way.
