The residence for this contemporary Sydney‐based Truss House has an industrial former, which led Carterwilliamson Architects to include reclaimed roof trusses, therefore its name, plus the designers resolved to include such characteristics into its exterior and interior decor. The recycled materials made a coated skillion roof with the uncovered construction shaping a congenital element of the fresh build's comprehensive character. The design is a lively difference of a classic patio house with the most public area, the living space, up front by the doorway, also the private spaces upstairs.
The reused brick walls were put together with warm wood as well as industrial metal details creating for a visually impactful aura, to soften the rough brick feel, the designers utilized a lot of warm‐colored wood in the decor. Coating the industrial atmosphere are concrete floors with fluted roof sheeting. The trusses applied at the back of the home were reversed to build the low, slanted roofline.
The main bedroom retains privacy with taller level windows with rotating wood shutters. A reversed truss turns a blurred window that allows daylight in without harming privacy. The main bedroom is industrial as well as laconic, with brick walls also much wood, industrial bulbs with shutters. Those enclosures allow a lot of natural light in, there's a mirror that visually extends the space plus a cozy bed. The shower zone has brick walls with coarse metal dark ones, the industrial decor is flawlessly displayed here.
The kitchen blends an uneven brick wall with minimalist white furniture as well as a sizable kitchen island, such a chic combination! There's an industrial shower with metal with brick walls, it excellently matches the room decor. There is a small courtyard with plants also chairs, it revitalizes the kitchen.
The house shows off outdoor areas in the front also back, together with a courtyard in the centre of the home, which is tiny but still revitalizes the house perfectly. Look at the industrial house plans below.
Vintage industrial accessories, like pendants over the island, give a new space some history and character.
